BASIC FIRE OPERATIONS AND INCIDENT COMMAND SYSTEM
(ICS) OVERVIEW
On January 23, 2007 the SEWCRSG sponsored a Basic Fire Operations and ICS Overview training session that was taught by Battalion Chief Mike Romas from the City of Milwaukee Fire Department. During the class, Chief Romas provided an overview of basic fire operations including terminology, gear, response, scene management and the Incident Command System (ICS). In addition, Chief Romas taught the classroom portion of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) IS-700 course entitled NIMS: An Introduction. One of the main purposes of this class was to assist agencies in achieving compliance with the Office of Justice Assistance’s (OJA’s) NIMS and ICS training requirements.
